Monday morning, you wake up at home and get ready to head to your Overnight Week of Dirt Bike Summer Camp. Wait…did you just say, OverNIGHT? For a whole WEEK?!! Wow!! Your parents must really, really LOVE you!
Yes, Iron Horse Country Ranch does Overnight Dirt Bike Summer Camp! For several years we provided only Day Camp sessions. We tried out one week of Overnight Camp 11 years back and have offered it ever since, increasing the number of weeks every season. For the 2023 Season, we will have all but one week as Overnight sessions.
What We Offer in our Dirt Bike Summer Camp
Our camp offers children the experience of non-stop excitement and thrills from arrival on Monday to departure on Friday. It’s like sneaking into Disney World and getting to stay after it closes! Our Austin-area parents won’t have to worry about everyday pickup/drop off, and our out-of-town parents will be relieved to have more slots!
Campers love it and feel a sense of accomplishment and pride as they embark out on their own for a week of excitement, personal growth and fun. Overnight at the Ranch is a wonderful time for our kids – they feel like Iron Horse Ranch is their own private playground in the country, having it all to themselves the entire week. Ride, swim, eat, repeat! Campfires, S’mores, Evening Rides, Moonlight Swims, Delicious Meals, Night Games and even Fireworks, every week!

A Note About Sleeping Arrangements & Supervision: Boys and Girls have separate buildings for sleeping and bathroom facilities. All campers will have twin-size beds with covered mattresses (Campers bring their own pillow and blanket/sleeping bag).
The Boys’ bunk rooms (3) are located in our air-conditioned Barn with a full bathroom (toilets, urinal, sinks, shower). Camp Directors oversee that all the boys get settled in their bunks with lights out by 10pm and return checks until quiet . Male counselors are assigned a separate bunk room in the Barn as well and will sleep there through the night to help as needed. Each bunk room has a 2-way radio for direct access to Mr. Turner if needed by any of the campers. In doing this, we have found that for campers who get anxious at bedtime, having a radio helps to relax and keeps rowdy behavior in check.
The Girls’ bunk room is located in the Tank House, the air-conditioned structure that has a full bathroom, lounging area, full kitchen and upper level twin beds. A girl’s counselor will be assigned to sleep in a separate area of the Tank House through the night. Just as with the boys, the girls will have a 2-way radio to call on Camp Directors Mr. or Mrs. Turner if needed.

A Note About COVID – here’s what we want you to know…
At minimum, we are prepared to employ the same precautions as we did in Summer 2022, more if required by our licensing entity, the Texas Dept. of Health and Human Services. For Summer 2022 we employed the following pre-cautions on our own:
- Reduced enrollment to increase spacing on the bus, bunk rooms, dining hall and whenever inside a building
- Good ventilation when indoors with added A/C units, Fans
- Hand washing throughout the day with Dial Soap and water (including by the riding tracks – no mean feat on a 100 acre ranch!).
