Counselors: You will be trained to ride motorcycles and become a professional instructor for coaching children to ride.  You must be able to ride a bicycle well and run a good mile.  Kids come from all over to experience riding a motorcycle for their first time and we need good energetic counselors to help out.  You must like to play with kids!

Your job is to help campers ride and to focus on them to keep them safe.  A typical day includes training children and pre-teens to ride small trail motorcycles , taking videos, playing air hockey or ping pong in the Rec Center or swimming and other typical camp activities at rest breaks.

Ranch Hand: got a background in ranch work? We need those kinds of skills here too, to keep everything running smoothly.  Involves tractor work, track and trail maintenance, animal work, handyman jobs and more. This position can also become a hybrid job of coaching kids as well as ranch duties. Best of both worlds!

For our Summer Camp employment, our staff is picked from people with good skills that involve interacting with and managing children and being physically fit (i.e. able to run a mile, good balance and coordination) as well as special individual skills such as photography, bike mechanics or  experience  with ranch animals and equipment.  Don’t be shy! We can teach an energetic person a lot before camp.  And, it’s fun!  Any safety courses you have taken are a plus such as Life Guard and Red Cross certifications.  And, we love Veterans!

We have a large pond, trails, tracks,  swimming pool and great sunsets.  All the buildings have A/C –  we are a very plush ranch camp!   All meals are provided as part of employment, at no cost to you. Counselors who stay overnight have their own bunk areas.  Not everyone is needed to spend the night and/or overnight stay is rotated among staff.  We also provide transportation to and from our site from our Cedar Park bus pick up area.   Summer Camp employment at Iron Horse Country Ranch means you will get access to all these great things to lead your group of children through each week .

As part of a small camp,  your position requires a lot of different duties.  You must like the outdoors.  It does get hot here in Texas! Camp counselor job duties vary by ability.  Some may have mechanical abilities and help with maintenance of the motorcycles, while others help more with food,  others for clean up.  We ALL take care of the campers. There is a high level of responsibility because of the motorcycles. We have specific training procedures and rules for the children riding to keep a zero tolerance level for accidents. This is why we are looking for leader-like counselors to work with our team .
