Getting to Camp

Traveling to us from other places within Texas, out-of-state or out of the country?  This page has crucial information and helpful links for planning your camper’s drop off/pick up to and from overnight camp.

NOTE: Many of our parents have actually chosen to stay in the area for a vacation of their own while their child is at camp.  Or, they have the ability to distance work from a hotel or rental and at the same time take advantage of the sites and activities that Central Texas has to offer.  We have created a page for ideas on where to stay and things to do if this is something you’d like to consider:
Where to Stay & What to do in Central Texas While Your Kid’s At Camp

DRIVING
If you live in Texas in an area other than Austin/Central Texas and
are planning to drive. . . you’ll be able to drive here on Monday morning and get here in time for check-in (9:15am at the Ranch) if you live closer than 3 hours away and provided you get an early start.  If you live further away than that  – we recommend you drive to our area the day before, on Sunday, in order to avoid arriving late on Monday morning. It’s not going to disrupt your child’s first day if they arrive a little late, meaning mid-morning.  Getting here later than that should be avoided, however.
FLYING
If you will be flying with your camper to our area, the closest large airport is Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.  ABIA is a one hour drive from Camp.  We recommend planning to arrive the day before, on Sunday, in order to arrive for check-in on Monday morning without problem.  A link to ABIA follows and includes ground transportation resource information:

Hotel/Lodging
There are many hotel/motel/inn/rental options to choose from, at various price levels, in the Austin/Cedar Park/Leander/Georgetown and Burnet areas depending on your plans and needs for Sunday travel.  Here are a few links to start your search:

FRIDAY – PARENT SHOW DAY & PICK-UP

Our end of week demonstration for parents and family members who come to watch their campers ride starts at 1:00pm sharp and ends at 2:00pm.  This event has always been very important to our campers – they want their loved ones to watch them ride and to take photos and videos of them.  So please, plan to attend if you can vs. just picking them up to go home! Remember, if you are planning a flight home on Friday, please account for time needed to attend the show,  check-out, load your child’s belongings and drive back to the airport.

NOTE: There is NO bus transportation back to Cedar Park High School on Friday afternoons.  All parents/designated pick-up drivers must pick up their campers by 2pm on Fridays, regardless of attending the Parent Show.
