FAQ's

Do I need to provide a motorcycle and safety gear?

Not at all! Our rates include the use of our fleet of well-maintained motorcycles and all necessary safety gear (helmets, goggles, gloves and chest protectors). If your camper prefers to bring their own gear, we can accommodate that too, but we ensure every child has access to good equipment regardless.

Most of our campers start as total beginners! Our curriculum is designed to take students from “never touched a bike” to confident riders in a single week. The price includes small-group instruction tailored specifically to their skill level, ensuring they progress safely and at their own pace. Children may come again and again the riders are sorted from beginner to advanced groups, We have all levels of riders at camp. They never want to stop coming, “its their people. They make everlasting friendships here.

We believe in no extras needed and want your child to feel comfortable as if at “home”. Our biggest cost over other camps is our motorcycles and gear that we are providing our campers to use in their camp week. It is expensive. Your rate also covers professional instruction, all meals and snacks, 24/7 supervision, and full access to our premium facilities including the swimming pool and recreation center. All our buildings have a/c . We provide a total immersion experience so parents don’t have to worry about extra daily costs. We are a one of a kind summer moto camp.

Safety is our priority, which means we don’t ride in the heat of the midday sun. Unlike “track-only” camps, we have a full resort-style campus. During hotter parts of day 2pm – 3 , we are in the pool and 3pm – 5 they are in our rec center or bunks resting. Kids enjoy the swimming pool, the air-conditioned recreation center, and organized team games. You aren’t just paying for riding lessons; you’re paying for a full summer camp experience. They do ride 3 sessions per day, morning after lunch and evening ride- The golden hour best ride time!

Yes just contact us , and we can give you 10% discount on multiple weeks registered. We can spilt payments too into a couple of months as long as there is time before your session starts. We believe and trying to let everyone have a chance at getting into our moto camp, we give first timers the last week #6 discount rate of $1960 . Please register and pick submit registration only no payment and we will send you and email invoice to click and pay for any of the above reasons.

Yes! We offer a specialized “Day-to-Dusk” program for families who want the full moto camp experience without the overnight stay.

  • Who it’s for: Perfect for younger campers getting accustomed to the camp environment, or families with other needs that require the camper to head home at night.

  • The Schedule: Day campers are part of the action from 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM daily.

  • The Experience: Your child participates in every single camp activity—from morning ride sessions to evening social events. They do everything our overnight campers do; they just head home when it’s time for lights out!

  • Rates: Because day campers receive the same instruction, track time, meals, and supervision as our overnight guests, the camp rate remains the same.

Need a custom arrangement? Every child is different. If your camper has specific needs or you have further questions about the daily transition, please call us directly so we can make their experience perfect.

Yes,  all staff are  background checked. Most of our staff has been with us for years and some have been through camp since 8 years old and are now young adults. Half of the children in camp have been with us before too, so we are very familiar with our camp population. We are a small camp with 32 campers per week not 500 plus mega kids camp, so we can spot bad behavior very quicky , whether its staff or the campers. We seem to attract very good kids and staff , they all want to be here to get to ride. The staff know how exclusive the moto camp is and want it be be a great experience for campers and for themselves as coaches and counselors. To get to work here is a privilege. We lover our staff.

The Value of the Ride: Understanding Your Tuition

At Iron Horse Country Ranch, we know that choosing a summer camp is a big decision for your family and your budget. Unlike traditional sports camps, motocross is a highly specialized, gear-intensive motorized sport. To help you understand what goes into a week at the Ranch, we’ve broken down the “hidden costs” that make our camp possible.

1. A Rare & Specialized Skill

In a typical school of 500 students, you might only find  five or six kids who truly know how to ride a motorcycle. As tracks and open trails across the country continue to disappear, providing a safe, legal, and professional place to ride has become increasingly expensive. We aren’t just teaching a sport; we are preserving a lifestyle that is becoming harder to find.

2. Real Honda And Kawasaki Dirt Bike Motorcycles- The best Equipment !

To give your child the best experience, we provide an extensive inventory of all models of dirt bikes and equipment that is built to handle the dirt:

  • The Bikes: Each motorcycle in our fleet costs between $3,000 and $5,000. (before COVID this was $1500 to $3000)

  • The Safety Gear: We outfit each rider in approximately $500 plus worth of safety gear (helmets, boots, chest protectors, etc.) to ensure they stay as safe as possible while learning.

3. Constant Maintenance & “Wear and Tear”

Motocross is “hard” on machinery. A single week of camp puts significant stress on a bike.

  • Mechanical Upkeep: Between tires, chains, filters, and fluids, we spend roughly $500 per week, per bike just to keep them in peak, safe operating condition. (We spend about $30,000 a year to replenish the fleet ). This is Parent’s first eye opening realization when getting child a dirt bike . Next question is .. where are you going to ride it?

  • Track Grooming: A safe track requires constant care. We operate heavy machinery—including bulldozers and tractors—to groom the dirt and manage dust with daily watering. This ensures the terrain is consistent and predictable for our riders.

4. Professional Instruction & Safety

On top of the mechanical costs, we provide the standard essentials of a top-tier summer camp:

  • Expert Coaching: High staff-to-camper ratios to ensure every rider gets the attention they need.

  • Facility Operations: Food service, utilities, other activities like a normal summer camp and 24/7 supervision of your child.

The Bottom Line

When you invest in a week at Iron Horse, you aren’t just paying for a camp; you are paying for our highly trained staff, the heavy machinery, the specialized mechanics, the high-end safety gear, and the rare opportunity for your child to master a machine in a world where those opportunities are fading.
