The owners and counselors are passionate, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in every rider’s success. They didn’t just teach kids how to ride—they taught them how to ride safely, with proper technique, good habits, and respect for the sport. From body position and bike control to pacing in the Texas heat, hydration, and making smart decisions on the track, every lesson had a purpose.

But the greatest gift they gave my son wasn’t just becoming a better rider—it was confidence. Watching him leave camp standing a little taller, believing in himself, and excited to keep learning was priceless. He came home with new skills, new friendships, incredible memories, and a level of confidence that will carry far beyond dirt biking.

As a parent, there is nothing more meaningful than seeing your child grow in an environment where they are encouraged, challenged, and genuinely cared for. You simply can’t put a price on that.

He had never been on a dirt bike but really wanted to learn. We had no knowledge of riding and no idea how to get him started and this camp was the perfect place. Mr. Turner is full of knowledge and so patient with each kid. He knows how to get them to listen and learn to ride in a safe environment. My son was also really happy with the food and overall camp setup. Mrs. Turner knows how to keep kids well fed and does a great job handling meals. We highly recommend Iron Horse!

Mr and Mrs Turner were the best at making the kids feel right at home and safe. What a great experience Rainey had. She made some new friends and hopefully will see them next summer. For anyone looking for a dirt bike camp for their kids, I highly recommend. Iron Horse was all about safety and making friends! And of course motorcycles!!!!

My son just wrapped up his very first five-day sleepaway session, and guess what—he was having SO much fun that he didn't even think to call me! :) For a first-time camper mom, that is EVERYTHING.

The instructors are firm on safety, overflowing with kindness, and somehow magically respond to every worried parent question before you even finish typing it. They had those kids geared up, safe, and ripping around that track like pros—all while cracking smiles and high-fiving like crazy.

My little guy came back glowing—talking nonstop about conquering new dirtbike techniques, cannonballing into the pool, and yes, even raving about lunchtime (which is basically a parenting miracle). But the biggest win? He made a whole crew of new best friends and is already counting down the days until next year.

Ironhorse delivers the perfect storm: skill, safety, and pure, unplugged JOY. If your kid loves speed, dirt, and making memories that actually stick—this camp is an absolute GAME-CHANGER. Book it. Thank me later!

I hope my son goes to Iron Horse every year (this was his first year at nine years old) and eventually works there as a staff member. Iron Horse is a magical place that helped my son come alive. We will use his love of motorcycles to help him stay motivated to do other hard things like school. The Turners have this vision for all the kids who come to camp: to use something they love to teach them skills that help them in every aspect of their lives. I cannot say enough good things about the camp. We were doubtful our son could handle overnight camp, but because of the attention and dedication and love of the staff he felt comfortable enough to stay overnight and grew tremendously over the course of the week. What makes us so good for your child and first timers

The “Small Camp” Feel: With only 32 campers per week, it is far less overwhelming than massive 300-person camps. This small size allows staff to know every child by name and catch signs of homesickness early.
Beginner-Centric: Most campers have never ridden a dirt bike before. The curriculum is built on confidence-building drills rather than competition, so your child won’t feel “behind” others.
Comfortable Facilities: Unlike more rustic camps, Iron Horse provides air-conditioned bunk rooms and a climate-controlled cafe. For a child used to home comforts, this can make the transition much easier.
Structured “Show Day”: Parents are invited on Friday 1-2pm to watch a “Show Day.” Knowing they will see you at the end of the week to show off their new skills gives kids a tangible goal to look forward to.
